A 21-year-old woman was cited after hitting a car with her bicycle this morning on Del. 1 north of Dewey Beach, police said.

The woman, Olga Kabanova, who is from Russia but is living in Rehoboth Beach for the summer, was injured in the crash. She was taken to Beebe Hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg, scrapes and abrasions, Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Oldham said.

Oldham said Kabanova, who was wearing a helmet, was pedaling her bicycle southbound on Del. 1 about 10 a.m. when she hit a 2000 Lexus pulling out of a hotel parking lot. No one in the car was injured.

She was cited for riding her bicycle southbound on a northbound shoulder, Oldham said.
