The Wilmington Urban Bike Project will be holding a series of workshops through July and August to prepare donated bicycles for a Free Bike Program. The bikes will be given away at no cost to residents of Wilmington in need.

This is a perfect opportunity to use the mechanical skills you already have, or learn things you never knew about the inner workings of bikes. Anyone from a complete novice to a master bike mechanic is welcome. 5-6 bikes will be repaired during each session and skills covered will be a range of the following: Changing tires/tubes, lubricating hubs, truing wheels, adjusting bottom brackets, brake pad replacement and adjustment, derailler adjustment, handlebar wrapping, pedal replacement and so on….. If your own personal bike needs some TLC, then they encourage you to bring it along as well.

    Wednesday, July 18 – 6.30-9.00 – Workshop Session
Friday, July 27 – 8.00-12.00 – Possible UBP Benefit Show, TBA
    Sunday, July 29 – 12.30-3.00 – Workshop Session
    Saturday, August 4 – 12.00-2.30 – Workshop Session

All workshops will be held at the infamous and certainly temporary home of UBP, 809 W 28TH ST, Wilmington, DE. Foods, beverages, good music and good times always provided.
