Just a reminder that the DE band “Mad Sweet Pangs” will be performing The Last Waltz on Friday night at Mojo 13. UBP will receive a portion of the proceeds and will raffle off t-shirts, dvd’s and even a nice cruiser bike!
Please join us for a great time!

I also wanted to remind you of the workshops being held on July 29 at 12.30 and August 4 at 12.00. We had over 15 people help out on the 18th, the wrenches were flying!

You may also be hearing about the Wilmington Grand Prix in the News Journal as Mayor Baker announces the “return of professional cycling to Wilmington”
tomorrow. We will attempt to break the world record for the largest bicycle parade (822 is the mark to beat) on September 8th, coupled with a professional bike race and street festival. I’ve posted some preliminary details below. We need volunteers to man the valet bike parking and bicycle safety check!! Please contact me if you’re interested!

    * Family Bike Parade, presented by Chase, will be attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records for largest Bike Parade (more than 822 bikes that must cover 2.1 miles). We have already submitted our paperwork to Guinness stating our record attempt. This event will be a fundraiser for local organizations (schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, YWCA, Little League teams, neighborhood associations…). If we break the record, the team/organization bringing the most bikes will receive a $5,000 donation. The Wilmington Grand Prix guarantees a minimum of $2,500 to the team/organization having the most bikes complete the race – regardless of whether we break the record.
