• Taxis, Ferry Fail to Carry Cyclist Across the Delaware

A big HISS to DRBA, DNREC and local cab operators providers this weekend. A Maryland cyclist was unable to cross the Delaware River on Saturday because of benign neglect, anti-bike policies and the failure to inform the public of schedule changes.

1 – The Delaware River and Bay Authority refused to carry him over the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

2 – DRBA’s Three Forts Ferry (Operated for Fort Delaware State Park) was not running to Fort Mott NJ because of a special event. There was no indication on the Ferry’s website that service to NJ was cancelled on Saturday

3 – Perhaps the most disturbing of all. The cyclist called several cab companies and each one refused to carry a bicycle over the bridge to NJ.

Feel free to write the DRBA, DNREC and every cab company and ask them to carry bicycles.
