Intro to Mountain Biking
The TrailSpinners’ next ‘Intro To Mountainbiking’ session will be Sunday, August 14th, 1pm at White Clay Creek State Park’s Nine Ft Road area and sponsored by Henry’s Bike Shop. We’ll work on some basic skills in a friendly environment (on grass!) then head out to ride some of the sweetest trails in the Mid-Atlantic area. If you’re new to trail riding, want to brush up on some skills, or just want a guided trail ride, we’d love to have you join us. To help us plan, please register via email to: email@example.com.

Our major opportunity to show our support for completing the Wilmington-to-New Castle bikeway (aka the Industrial Track) to public officials and decision makers from all over New Castle County and from the state is the WILMAPCO Technical Advisory Committee meeting on August 18 at 10AM in Newark. This meeting will take place during a weekday morning, so the presence of bicyclists – taking off work to be present and all wearing bicycle pins (or something suggestive of bicycling) – will send an enormously powerful message to the WILMAPCO Council and other decision makers. The course will cover everything (bike fit, what to wear, how to brake, how to ride, traffic skills, avoidance techniques, and emergency techniques, etc). [full details…]
