• If you do only one thing for walking and biking this year…

    Do This:

Do you know the name of your state Senator and Representative? Have you told them, in person, how important walking and bicycling are to you? If you haven’t, participating in Walkable, Bikeable Delaware on April 26 is your chance to do so…and change Delaware forever.

In his State of the State speech on January 19, Governor Jack Markell proposed making unprecedented investments in walking and bicycling in order to “make Delaware one of the most walkable and bikeable states in America.” But this will only happen if the Delaware General Assembly approves the Governor’s request.

Help make sure our legislators know how important walking and bicycling are to us. With their support for direct and strategic funding for walking and bicycling, we can save money and improve our health while, simultaneously, we also increase tourism, give a boost to economic development, reduce congestion, lower emissions, provide recreational opportunities and improve our quality of life.
