• Legislators Ride and Bike to School Day on May 9

    Celebrate bicycling in Delaware with us by Biking to Work and Bike to School. This year Legislator’s the ride will again begin at Polly Drummond Hill Shopping Center and conclude at Legislative Mall in Dover. However this year we will also be celebrating biking to school with the League of American Bicyclists on the first National Bicycle to School Day. Led again by Senator Dave Sokola to promote bicycling during national bicycling month we will stop at Townsend Elementary School to promote bicycling to school as well! Here a brief press event will be held with students.

    From the North begins 7:00 AM at the Polly Drummond Hill Shopping Center (approx 60 miles) and ends at Legislative Mall in Dover. For those who prefer a shorter trip additional rendezvous points are planned along the way at Townsend Elementary School BIKE TO SCHOOL EVENT (9:30 AM – 30 miles) and in Clayton at Lorenzo’s Restaurant (10:30AM – 14 miles). From the South a group will be riding in from Milton Park (37 miles) with rendezvous points in Milford Superfresh (8:45 AM – 24 miles) and Halls Restaurant (10:00 AM to eat and 11:00 AM to ride – 5.5 miles).
