The Urban Bike Project
does not have something planned for every day of Bike Month.  But they’ve still got plenty planned:
Wilmington Grand Prix is coming up and we need volunteers to lend a hand! Urban Bike Project will be helping with the Grand Prix for the Neighborhood Kids Sprint on Saturday, May 19th. We’ll need volunteers to help kids find the right sized bike, make sure they all have helmets, and help organize the race itself. We will also need a few volunteers to help out at the Governor’s Ride and Gran Fondo on Sunday, May 20th. If you can help out either day or have any questions, send us an email at urbanbikeproject@gmail.com, subject line: Grand Prix.

The Mechanics Course dates are finally set. There are still a few open spots, so if you’d like to sign up, send us an email at urbanbikeproject@gmail.com with the subject line: Mechanics Course. If we run out of room, you’ll be first on the June course list. The four week course will be on May 14, May 21, June 4, and June 11 from 7 to 9 PM. The cost is $50 for the whole course, or $15 a week. Those who become consistent volunteers after the program can get their $50 back in shop credit.

Come out to the shop tomorrow, May 5, from 12 to 5 for Urban Bike Project and CORE Initiative Bike Camp. It’s a youth friendly event for all ages. In addition to the bike camp, there will be a motorcycle exhibition, water ice, and a kick ball tournament.

Lastly, we hope to see everyone at the Urban Bike Project Cinco de Mayo Benefit Party tomorrow, May 5th, from 8pm to 1am! It’s going to be at Bellefonte Cafe and Trading Company (804 Brandywine Blvd, Wilmington, DE). $5 at the door goes to support Urban Bike Project. Come out to support us and have some fun!
