    John P. Wyre, 52, of Hockessin, passed away suddenly on May 28, 2012.

    Born in Wilmington DE, on October 8th 1959, John graduated from Delcastle.

    John was predeceased by his mother Louise Covelli. He is survived by his wife, Donna of 23 years; 3 children, Amanda, Sam, Katherine & her partner Timmy Kozlaski; grandchildren, Emma & Jayce; brother, Billy & wife Janis; sister, Theresa Maney & husband Bob, and numerous family members and loved ones.

    John worked at DuPont Experimental Station as a Research Scientist for 31 years. He enjoyed biking, fishing, photography, and was very dedicated to his family and friends. He was always the first one helping others. John recently cycled in the Wilmington Grand Prix and Street Festival and finished 8th in his age bracket.

    Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, June 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Hockessin on Monday, June 4th at 10:30 am. Burial will follow Mass in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ashland, DE.

      John was a loved son-in-law who we will miss. We vacationed a lot together, several times in Maui, HI, Maine and other places and have wonderful, happy memories.
