Thanks for supporting biking in and around Wilmington, Delaware!

Goal #1 – If you haven’t already, PLEASE contact your local legislators and ask them to support full funding for bicycle and pedestrian projects in the bond bill. It’s easy!

Goal #2 – Develop grass roots support for bike initiatives within the Greater Wilmington area.

Goal #3 – Let’s go out and have fun!!

Summer 2012 Bike Wilmington Events

2nd Wednesday After-Work Meetings (June – August)
June 13, July 11, and August 8, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. (with optional after-meeting social) Ciao Pizza & Grill, Trolley Square, 1600 Delaware Avenue

4th Wednesday “Bike Cruises” (June – August)
June 27, July 25, and August 22, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Starts at Rockford Tower (Rockford Park). Anyone can join us to ride at a relaxed (slow) pace through quiet and historic neighborhoods to Eeffoc’s Café & Grill in Trolley Square for a round of coffee (future destinations will vary).  Families are welcome!

Upcoming Local Bike Events:

Cabot 2012 Community Tour arrives at Wilmington’s Waterfront
Saturday June 16th from 10 – 2 at the Tubman Garrett Park. This free event will include live entertainment from community theaters and groups, children’s activities, giveaways (including bike helmets), a Sports Zone and more. They will also showcase local community and nonprofit organizations and proceeds from vendor fees will benefit the Food Bank of Delaware.

Event attendees can get their “Passports” stamped at the various organization booths to enter to win a Passport to the Outdoors Prize Package. visit http://www.cabotcommunitytour.com/ for more info. Ride for Habitat 2012 – Walk, Run, Ride Event
Saturday June 23rd – event start times vary – visit www.habitatinmotion.org for more info. Join New Castle County’s Habitat for Humanity for a great time as we walk, run or ride to raise funds for the build program. You can participate as an individual, or start or join a team! Teams can include walkers, runners and bike riders.
