The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to obtain comments from surrounding businesses and the general public for the intersection improvement project on Route 7 at Skyline Drive. The project limits will extend along Route 7 from New Linden Hill Road to Ferris Drive and will include work on Skyline Drive. The workshop will be held on Monday, June, 25, 2012 at Skyline Middle School, 2900 Skyline Drive in Pike Creek. The public is invited to attend anytime between 4 & 7pm.
The project was a product of the 2010 Hazard Elimination Program (HEP). Designated as site C, the HEP report called for an extension of the left-turn lanes in both the northbound and southbound direction along Route 7. Sidewalks on Skyline Drive will also be reconstructed and will meet ADA requirements. This work will also include bus shelter installation, channelization islands, and crosswalks. DelDOT will be presenting the proposed improvements at this workshop and is looking for the public to provide input. [Workshop webpage HERE]
Poster’s note: We urge bicyclists to attend this workshop as there is no mention of bicycling safety improvements to this intersection.
