The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to solicit public input on pedestrian improvements to Route 1 from the Rehoboth Canal to north of US Route 9, Five Points Intersection as well as SR 1A from Columbia Ave/Grove St. to 5th Street. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 7 at Cape Henlopen High School Cafeteria in Lewes. The public is invited to attend any time between 4 PM and 7 PM.

The purpose of the project is to provide safe, continuous pedestrian facilities along Route 1/1A within the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach area. Improvements include sidewalk construction to meet current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) guidelines, striping, lighting and signal upgrades. Attendees will have an opportunity to review display materials and provide comments to DelDOT representatives.
