The Joint Committee on Capital Improvement (also known as the “Bond Committee”) of the Delaware General Assembly is meeting this week to decide on the state of Delaware’s capital budget.

The state’s capital budget covers all state agencies, including DelDOT and DNREC.

Two years ago, this committee approved an historic commitment to cycling.

In terms of the significant and lasting change to the built environment that we desperately need to make Delaware bicycle friendly for all Delawareans who want to bicycle (or walk!) to where they want to go, the decisions of this committee are essential. Bike Delaware, along with its partners, is keeping an eye on the committee during its deliberations this week. We’ll keep you posted.
