  1. RLF says:

I have been riding a bicycle since I was eight years old, now sixty-seven. Until fairly recently I’ve also been a jogger (for 30yrs) I would like to know what the memberships are (include) basic; silver; gold. Are there any people my age riding (I wouldn’t want to feel out of place)

  2. Corinth Ford says:

Dear rlf – Please do join us, you won’t be out of place. A lady should not have to disclose her age in public, but I will tell you that I am closer to 50 than I am to 40. There are quite a few folks in their fifties and sixties in our membership; YOU WILL NOT FEEL OUT OF PLACE, but will be MOST WELCOME!

  3. Frank Warnock says:

Cori, you nailed it. RLF, we like to think of these folks as the heros. Wally is 78 years old and rides over 12,000 on an average year: http://www.bikede.org/2011/05/19/if-lucette-gilbert-can-ride-her-bike-to-work-what%E2%80%99s-your-excuse/

Our goal is to represent a diversity of all age groups, so feel free to join us! All memberships include event discounts; Gold and above receive a printed/signed certificate of appreciation and free events admission. All members receive a membership card and a freebie of choice at the event (wristband, button, bicycle pin, etc). But the biggest benefit of all is the advocacy you receive for bicycling (and walking, and running) at home here in Delaware. Hope to see you soon!
