Newark Bike Project Update

OPEN SHOP– Every Tuesday, 6 to 9pm

MECHANICS CLASSES – Taught during the month of August on Thursday nights. If you or anyone you know is interested, click HERE or please contact us through info@newarkbikeproject.org and we will reply with more details.

MONTHLY SHOP MEETING – Every 4th Wednesday 7/25, 5 to 7pm. This is an opportunity for any one who is interested to hear what the bike shop has been planning and to share any thoughts about what they would like to make happen in our community. Election of NBP Officers is scheduled for the next meeting.

This has been a new event to NBP initiated at our last meeting.  Every other Friday NBP will have a “closed” shop where no sales and no customer repair will be conducted.  This is an opportunity for volunteers to come and work at the shop on any project of their choice, be it stripping bikes, fixing bikes, making posters, organizing parts, etc.  Additionally, during the first 20 minutes of Closed Shop a tutorial will be given to demonstrate one skill on how to repair a bike.  This week, students from the ELI will join us to conduct some community service hours and learn more about our community in Newark.  Hope to see you there!

MOVIE NIGHT: BREAKING AWAY – Wednesday 8/1, 8pm. Come one, come all!  Hang out with fellow friends and come to relax while enjoying the experience of Breaking Away.

FARMERS MARKET BIKE STAND – Sunday 8/5, 10am to 2pm. Come hand out on the 1st Sunday with the NBP and other community organizations at the Farmer’s Market!  Talk with other like-minded community members, find delicious locally grown produce, and eat yummy wood-fire roasted pizza!  There’s lots to do at the market!
