At last year’s Walkable Bikeable Delaware Summit, DelDOT Secretary Bhatt and DNREC Secretary O’Mara jointly announced Delaware’s new #5 Bicycle Friendly State ranking; Civil Engineering Professor Peter Furth described how Delaware could make simple and cost-effective investments in a “low traffic stress” network to grow bicycling in Delaware; Governor Markell and DHSS Secretary Landgraf praised Delaware’s new ranking as the most bicycle-friendly state east of the Mississippi River; and legislators and Secretary Bhatt discussed walking and cycling in Delaware on a candid afternoon panel.
With our partners from last year’s summit (Sussex Outdoors and Delaware Greenways) returning and new partners joining (the American Heart Association and the Delaware Department of Transportation), the 2014 Walkable Bikeable Delaware Summit is going to be even more amazing.
This year’s summit (Dover, May 1) will bring together Governor Markell and other elected officials, DelDOT managers, engineers, planners, cyclists, public health professionals and greenway and trail advocates from all across Delaware – plus transportation agency professionals from the most bicycle-friendly places in America – to answer one simple but very basic question:
“How can we make Delaware the most bicycle friendly state in America?”
Thanks to our incredibly generous sponsors, attendance is free. But you do have to register!
See you in Dover!
Thank you to our incredible partners and sponsors!
